How to enjoy your summer!

We now live in a world full of change; some good and some bad. Unfortunately, one of the biggest threats to our current world is climate change and its effect on the everyday individuals like us whether we are at work in an office or spend our days out in the sun. It is now more important than ever that we start taking responsibility for our own health and safety especially during activities that leave us exposed and vulnerable to the damaging qualities of our sun.

Being an Australian company, we have grown up with sun safety in mind, whether it’s in the school playground or just driving down the lane to the shops, we know that even five minutes of exposure increases our risk of developing skin cancer. Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world with approximately two in three Australians being diagnosed with skin cancer by the time they are 70[1] which is why sun safety is an integral part of SParms thus we have incorporated the latest technologies into our products to both protect and perform in high exposure situations.

So how do we protect ourselves? Traditionally we have been following the “Slip, Slop, Slap” rule that keeps us shielded against the sun. We slip on a shirt, slop on some sunscreen, and slap on a hat and we are good to go.... or are we? What about in two hours time when the heat and sweat have mostly rendered our sunscreen ineffective? It’s likely too hot to be wearing long sleeves and frankly, no one like putting on sunscreen over our own sweat. It’s pretty gross. SParms solves this problem altogether. No more sunscreen (where you are covered by SParms) and no more hot long sleeves, our moisture-wicking UPF50+ rated sleeves will keep you cool and protected all day long without the need to reappply sunscreen every few hours.

If you spend a lot of time outside, we know how important it is to be sun smart while staying cool.

So don’t compromise, don’t play chicken with the sun, treat your skin with respect and look after it by staying in the shade, keeping yourself covered and being smart about your outdoor activities. Best of all, keep a SParms in your bag or pocket (it will fit anywhere) so you’re never caught unprepared.
